In-depth business research

We start by understanding your business from the inside out - who your audiences are, what your competitors are doing, and what business goals the website needs to serve. Every decision we make from here is grounded in this research.

Page mapping and user journeys

We map every page the website needs and plan the user journeys - how each target audience finds the right information and takes the desired action.

Page-level content structure

We define exactly which content components belong on each page, in what order, and why. Every decision is backed by the research. From there, we move on to designing a unique brand identity that fits seamlessly.

When the blueprint is precise, I know exactly what each page needs to communicate and to whom. The design is born from strategy, not from guesswork.

Roadmap

We consolidate all insights into a detailed blueprint document that defines the requirements for branding and development. You know exactly what you're getting, why, and in what order.

Most agencies jump straight to design. We don't start a single pixel before there's a clear plan backed by real business research.

Why is a blueprint essential before building your website?

A strategic blueprint is the difference between a website that looks good and one that delivers real business results. Most websites don't fail because of bad design - they fail because not enough thought went into the planning stage.

We invest the time this stage requires because we've seen over and over that solid planning saves time and money down the road. The result - a website built precisely for your audiences, with sharp messaging and conversion paths that actually work.

What's included in a professional website blueprint?

Frequently asked questions about our blueprint process

How long does the blueprint process take?

The blueprint process typically takes between 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the size of the organization and the complexity of the website. A company with a single audience and a straightforward site will move faster, while an organization with multiple divisions or audiences requires deeper research.

What do I receive at the end of the blueprint process?

You receive a detailed blueprint document that includes: target audience definitions and key messaging, a complete sitemap with all required pages, and detailed content component lists for every page. This document is the foundation for the branding and development stages - every design and technical decision stems from it.

Can I do the blueprint without committing to branding and development?

Yes. The blueprint is a standalone service that can be purchased separately. Some of our clients start with the blueprint to get a clear picture of what their website needs, and only then decide on the next steps. The blueprint document is yours regardless - even if you choose to continue with another provider.

Why not skip straight to design?

Because without a blueprint you're paying for design based on assumptions. We've seen companies invest tens of thousands in a beautiful website that doesn't speak to the right audience, doesn't drive conversions, and needs to be rewritten months later. We prefer to invest a few weeks in research and planning so that design and development get it right the first time. That's what we call our Blueprint First Approach.
