The Hadassah Accelerator Powered by IBM Alpha Zone is a healthcare startup accelerator that combines Hadassah Medical Center's clinical expertise and data with IBM's technology capabilities. The program supports startups in digital health, medical AI, next-generation medical technologies, and hospital-specific challenges.

We got this project through Spyre, our client that specializes in corporate innovation and works with IBM. Spyre connected us to the IBM team managing the accelerator, with a clear mission: build a website worthy of both names - and do it in a matter of weeks before the next cohort began.

The alternative was waiting an entire year

Over five years of operation, the accelerator had supported dozens of startups. Each one needed a dedicated profile page on the website - but each was at a different stage, in a different city, and with materials in completely different formats.

The team realized that trying to collect photos and materials from every startup would mean the website would never get finished. The realistic alternative was to wait for the next cohort cycle - meaning a full year. That wasn't an option.

The decision was for us to take responsibility for the entire visual side of the website. For each startup, we created AI-generated images in a consistent style - based on the accelerator's branding but with content tailored to each startup's specific field. It's an interesting challenge: creating dozens of images that feel like part of the same site, but each tells a different story. This approach produced a result that was far more cohesive and professional than what we'd have gotten if each startup had provided their own photos.

A website that feels like an internal IBM and Hadassah product

When you're building a website under two brands the size of IBM and Hadassah, the bar is exceptionally high. The site needs to feel like something their internal teams would build - not like an external website someone assembled for them.

The written content was created by Spyre's marketing team, who know the accelerator and its language from the inside. We handled the UX strategy and built the site end to end - including a CMS that allows the accelerator team to update the portfolio, add new startups, and manage the program independently.

The site includes a full portfolio with profile pages for each startup, presentation of the program's focus areas (digital health, medical AI, advanced medical technologies, and Hadassah-specific challenges), event galleries, and a registration system for the next cohort - everything an international accelerator needs to attract the best startups.

From start to live site in a matter of weeks

The website was built in just a few weeks and went live in time for the next program cohort. It now serves the accelerator team as a central platform for startup recruitment, portfolio presentation, and communication with the international healthcare innovation community.

This project came to us through Spyre - another example of how one project opens the door to the next. When Spyre needs someone to build a website at IBM's level on a timeline that doesn't tolerate delays, they know who to call.
