Canopy Immuno-therapeutics is a biotech company developing a new class of therapies for antibody-mediated autoimmune disease. Their platform, Antigen-Drug Conjugates (AgDCs), is designed to target fewer than 0.01% of the autoantibodies and B-cells that drive the disease, while preserving 99.99% of protective immunity. Instead of suppressing the immune system for years, the goal is to treat the root cause.
We worked directly with Kfir, Canopy's CEO. The engagement started as a standalone UX strategy project, billed hourly. Only after Kfir saw the strategy did he decide to continue with us into design and website development.

During the UX strategy phase we found something we had never seen in a project before: everyone in the world for whom Canopy's website truly matters adds up to no more than about 150 people. Business development leaders at the world's largest pharma companies, and investors who specialize in biotech.
An audience like that changes every decision. There's no traffic to attract and no campaign to optimize for. There's a small group of very busy people who understand immunology and drug development in depth, and who need to grasp within seconds what sets Canopy apart from everything already on the market.
That insight shaped the entire structure. Every critical piece of information sits two to three clicks away at most. Credibility signals, like the board, the advisors and the leadership's track record, run throughout the site instead of waiting on an About page. And the science is layered: the big picture first, with full depth available for anyone who wants to dig in.

The copy was written together with our technology copywriter, who specializes in technical writing. The challenge was to speak the language of pharma executives and biotech investors without oversimplifying the science, while still telling a story that holds the reader from the first line. The homepage headline, Beyond Immunosuppression. A Path to Durable Remission., tells a professional reader in one sentence what Canopy changes.
The visual language grew out of the name. A canopy is the crown of a forest, so the forest runs through the entire site, from the drone footage in the hero to the closing call to action. The numbers that express the platform's precision, like the 99.99% of protective immunity preserved, are shown as counters that roll and settle, so the most important figure gets its moment.

Canopy's website is live at canopy-biotech.com and supports the company on its path to the clinic. The updates section puts milestones like the EIC Accelerator award and the Johnson & Johnson innovation challenge win exactly where the right audience will see them.
Canopy joins our work in science and healthcare, alongside NBT and the IBM and Hadassah accelerator. What they share is a professional audience that instantly recognizes a website that doesn't understand the field.
This project shows why we start every website with UX strategy: when your audience is 150 people, every word, every number and every click has to be right.
